Critique Report: On May 27, Kayce Benzon and Susan Ruske critiqued my design through ILearn. They both liked my design and the colors. Susan noticed that a word on one of the slides wasn’t aligned with anything so I fixed it. She thought some of the slides were a bit wordy, but it was difficult for me to shorten the phrases, so I didn’t. Kayce thought tmain points of the talk were clear and were displayed in the slides well. She didn’t have any other suggestions. On May 27 on Facebook, my instructor, Sister Peterson gave me more suggestions. She suggested to experiment more with the typography, so I did. I changed the color of the typography and also the color of the bar that went across the slides. One other suggestion she made was to surf the internet for some ideas on typography. I did, but I didn’t really find anything that I thought would fit with this project. I fixed a picture that was stretched awkwardly. She also suggested I could move the pictures from one side to the other, but I decided there was more uniformity the way it was I also added a small design element in the corner of each slide. It think it was a nice touch. With the many changes I made, I think it turned out well.

Process/Message/Audience: I chose this talk by Elder Wirthlin because I had just read it in a business class I am also taking. It helped me reinforce the things I am learning in both classes I am taking this semester. My target audience is anyone who needs help with their personal finances. I searched the internet for a picture that would go with each step, as well as the main idea of the talk. I had to change a couple of pictures, one that I really liked I had to cut down, but it worked well anyway. I wrote an outline and chose my body copy for the slides from my outline. I like the simple typography and used what I had. I changed the colors from what I had originally started with and I changed the layout from my original plan. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions! I hope you like it.

  1. Lynn – You did a Fabulous Job on these slides! I love your presentation! The pictures are very uniform. The fonts compliment each other. And having a slightly smaller text and bigger Title makes it pop! Your have a great color scheme. It really stands out well! Great Job!

  2. Lynn, what a great presentation. I am familiar with this talk and looking over your slides I was able to easily follow the message and fill in the blanks (what isn’t written). I really like the consistent pattern you used, it also made it very easy to follow…I wasn’t chasing anything down. I also like the fonts you chose, as well as the color pattern. Additionally you selected excellent pictures that illustrated each slide well.

  3. I do believe that is pretty near perfect. Great job.The flow with the words, color, font and pictures come together to tell a smooth story line. Nicely done. Really impressed.
